With Urban Espresso Roastery the brief was to create an e-commerce website which would allow for a mobile friendly experience first. My client wanted a website that would be easy to navigate and buy online for his customers, giving them the option of free local delivery (for a specific area/postal code), click and collect and nationwide shipping for their beautiful roasted beans only.
Using a combination of shipping rules and a Zapiet app, we were able to create a seamless checkout process, no-matter which delivery option was chosen.
The client also wanted to be able to offer a large variety of options for their hot coffee and cold drinks, including a selection of types of milks, syrups, sugar, how many shots of coffee etc. As well as with the 250g, 500g and 1kg of roasted coffee beans, they needed to be able to offer different grinds and blends, including a house blend, decaf and 8 global single origin beans. This meant hundreds of variations of each products to allow the customer to order it exactly how they would in person.
This website was launched a few days before lockdown started in NZ and people started becoming more aware of isolation for health and safety in Australia. The owners decided they would close their bricks and mortar cafe location in Launceston, Tasmania and only offer nationwide shipping of their beans and local contactless delivery for their baked goods (only available in 12 packs.) This meant we changed the websites checkout process to fit in with the new covid19 situation.
This Shopify theme is designed specifically for mobile first use. As you can see below the extra (orange) menu button is designed for mobile use and makes navigating the site and buying a very simple process.
